Trapping
(Traditional Molecatcher)When trapping, there is a choice of traps, either hidden underground, or visible, these can be selected based on the location and circumstances. Three traps are usually laid per mole. Traps set are checked every 24 hours and two visits are usually required.
There are fewer limitations associated with trapping, opposed to using gas. In most circumstances, trapping is the most appropriate method for mole control especially in residential areas. Gassing is no longer available from Essex Moles.
In most cases the Moles are caught within 24 hours. Inevitably there are instances where there will be an evasive Mole, and I do enjoy a challenge. Results are guaranteed.
Talunex
(Gas)Talunex is a pellet which when in contact with moisture produces Aluminium Phosphide gas. These pellets can be injected into the mole runs creating pockets of gas. This modern method of control is ideal for large problem areas, and proves very effective. There is no need for any holes to be dug which can prove beneficial in many circumstances. Talunex however is not suitable for use in close proximity to any buildings or structures.
The use of gas is often criticized, this is a result of ineffective methods of use by the user, it is no fault of the product. Although gas is considered a viable and effective method of controlling Moles, I now only use traditional methods - a Traditional British Molecatcher.
I no longer offer Mole control by gas.
I now ONLY use the traditional method with
Traps.
What to expect
Once moles have been removed, the tunnel systems still remain. Moles will travel from adjoining hedge rows and gardens to take over the vacated tunnels. This does mean that although the moles can be removed using the methods above, they are susceptible to being taken over again.
In this instance, it is essential the area is monitored. I will always advise if I think this is likely, if so I would recommend either further visits or and annual solution. Annual contracts work out extremely cost effective and provide peace of mind.
Collapsing Tunnel Systems
I offer a service to collapse tunnel systems, there are limitations to this process and it should be noted that it cannot be undertaken near buildings, structures, services or in confined spaces. It is more appropriate on larger expanses of ground, where the mole problem has been particularly destructive.
Please Note
Tunnel systems must be vacated of "all" species prior to commencement of this service.
For more information please contact me.
This service is no longer
available.
